Pedagogy
As a Math teacher within SFUSD, I was invited to join a summer professional development course on applying Complex Instruction (CI) teaching practices into my classroom. The goal of CI is to enable students to learn at a high intellectual level in academically, linguistically, racially, ethnically, and socially heterogeneous classrooms. The pedagogical strategies were developed in the 1960’s by researchers at Stanford, where they continue to be expanded upon through the Stanford YouCubed Mathematics Program.
