Teaching CS

Over the time I’ve spent as a teacher, I have taught several courses in Computer Science (CS). My initial exposure was leading an elective Middle School CS course at Bessie Carmichael K-8, using the code.org platform.

Some years later, after a series of trainings in Bootstrap / WeScheme, I taught a summer school project-based Algebra 1 & CS course as part of the SAILL (Summer Academy for Integrated Language Learning).

After being recommended to join the 4th cohort in a newly established 18 month program in a collaboration between SFUSD and San Francisco State University (SFSU), in which teachers can attend classes part-time in order to earn the supplementary authorization to teach Computer Science, my interest in learning more about programming, specifically python was peaked.
