Background

My journey into teaching and technology began during my Undergraduate years at UC Berkeley, where I created my own major of Education and Social Change. My graduating thesis was a research project on the digital divide.

After graduation, back in my home city of San Francisco, I worked for several non-profits in the South of Market Area (SOMA) as a community organizer strengthening the connection between youth serving organizations, advocating for measures to curtail displacement and gentrification, as well as spotlight the history of Filipino families in the SOMA neighborhood.

My volunteering and organizing with Bessie Carmichael K-8 inspired my commitment to becoming a classroom teacher. After graduating from the University of San Francisco with a single subject Math teaching credential and a Master’s in Teaching Urban Education and Social Justice, I returned to Bessie Carmichael (SFUSD) to teach 6th grade Math and Science.

Having the urge to explore teaching high school mathematics led me to my current position at Raoul Wallenberg High School (SFUSD), where I’ve taught PreCalculus, Algebra 2, Algebra 1.
